About Rattan
The word "Rattan" originates from Malay language ("Rotan") and derives from the rattan palm which is a climbing palm on tropical trees in Southeast Asia and can reach up to 150 meters. There are nearly 300 different species of this kind of climbing palm tree. Rattan is the outer skin of the shoots and has a great elasticity. Therefore, rattan is ideal for the manufacture of basketry and woven rattan furniture such as chairs and armchairs. Steam is used to make rattan soft and elastic which allows the plaiting of the material.
Poly rattan looks very similar to natural rattan, but is made of plastic and therefore weather-resistant, elastic and more durable. Furniture made of poly rattan looks very natural and can be used indoors as well as outdoors. The processing of our products is of the highest quality. The color of the poly-rattan is not only resistant to the influence of sun and rain but will also not wash out due to UV protection. These are many reasons that speak for a chair, sofa or an entire lounge in poly rattan.
