Cleaning & Care Instructions for Garden Lounges with Sunbrella™ Fabric
You can clean your Sunbrella garden lounge using a pressure washer from a safe distance of at least about 40 cm or with a garden hose. If green spots have appeared, soak them with water, then scrub with a sponge and let them dry. Light dirt should then disappear.
If dirt or green spots cannot be removed with this cleaning method, you can remove them using our garden lounge cleaning agent, water, and a soft brush or sponge, following the garden lounge cleaning instructions below:
1. Brush off dirt with a soft brush.
2. Wet the lounge with a hose or a bucket of water and let it soak.
3. Spray the garden lounge cleaning agent Tex Aktiv generously onto the dirt, then massage in with a brush or sponge and let it sit for a short while.
4. Rinse the lounge with a garden hose or pressure washer to remove the cleaning agent from the fabric (do not use the highest Kärcher setting and keep a distance of about 40 cm, as a water jet that is too close can damage the fabric).
5. Allow the garden lounge to dry completely.
6. We then recommend treating the garden lounge with the fabric lounge impregnation agent for long-lasting protection.
Tip for Winterizing Your Garden Lounge
Anyone who values their garden lounge should care for it regularly to enjoy it for many years and fully enjoy the coming summer. With our tips for winterizing your garden lounge, you can use your lounge worry-free: Clean your garden lounge according to our cleaning instructions and allow the fabric lounge to dry completely. Then treat the garden lounge with our special impregnation agent for fabric lounges.

For protection during the autumn and winter months, we recommend covering the lounge with our custom-made, weather- and winter-resistant, breathable garden lounge protective cover. This allows you to remove the cover easily in spring, and your garden lounge will be immediately clean and ready to use – perfect for enjoying the first warm rays of sunshine.
What are Green Deposits on Your Garden Lounge and How Can They Be Prevented?
Green deposits on your garden lounge are an annoying problem that many garden furniture owners know. These deposits are caused by moss and algae that grow in shady, damp areas in your garden or on your terrace and mostly occur during the autumn and winter months when it rains frequently and the sun rarely shines. If the garden lounge cannot dry properly, green deposits may form.
To prevent green deposits, sunlight is your best ally. Place your garden lounge in a bright, sunny spot so it receives as much sunlight as possible. Once the lounge is dry, you can protect it during the winter months with a custom-made garden lounge protective cover from Viplounge. This keeps your furniture clean and free of green deposits.
If green deposits have already formed, follow our instructions for cleaning your garden lounge. Cleaning is very easy, and your lounge will look like new afterwards. The same cleaning process can be applied to weatherproof Sunbrella cushions.
To prevent future green deposits, regularly remove organic dirt such as leaves and dust from your terrace and garden furniture. Also ensure good drainage so that no water remains standing. Pruning trees and shrubs can also help allow more sunlight into your garden or onto your terrace. This minimizes the likelihood of green deposits forming on your garden lounge.
